Prison Fellowship Malawi (PFM) is a faith based trans-denominational organization, established in 2001, in Malawi and registered locally, under the Trustees Incorporation Act in 2004 and also registered with the NGO Board of Malawi in 2016. PFM is an affiliate of Prison Fellowship International (PFI), a world-wide movement of national ministries working together to improve the lives of prisoners, their families, victims of crime and individuals who are at risk of sliding into crime.

Prison Fellowship Malawi, has over the years developed programmes and interventions premised on Restorative Justice principles of accountability, reconciliation, restoration and reparation. The organization champions advocacy and respect of rights of prisoners, their families and communities as enshrined in the Malawi Constitution, as well as, in other relevant international instruments such as The United Nations Standard Minimum Rules for The Treatment of Prisoners (UNSMRs), and the Kampala Declaration on Prison Conditions in Africa, among others.

The organisation is now implementing 4 projects; a recollection program called The Halfway House Program (HWH), a children’s program called The Child’s Journey (TCJ) and inside prison projects namely The Prisoner’s Journey (TPJ) and Public Reading Scripture (PRS).
